    Disc bolt thread locking

    Evening Gents.

    A bit of advice please.

What would you use/recommend for thread locking disc bolts back in?

    TIA.

    Hi Gus
I have always been happy with the red loctite.

    Don't use the permanent stuff.

    Thanks Guys.

I did a little Googling last night regarding Loctites.

I think I am going to go with Loctite Blue 242 as it seems to be semi permanent, allowing removal again without the possible need for heat application.

Thanks again for the advice, much appreciated.

243 is an upgraded version of 242 with better oil tolerance

    Thanks Pal.

    Good to know.

I'm going to try the 242 as I've just found out we have some at work, bonus.

Gonna make sure all the threads are degreased as much as possible.

    Cheers

When Al did mine we reverted to the original bolts rather than after market ones, they fitted better in every way.

I decide as it was brakes quality over shiny.
