Thumbs up Free Image & Video Hosting

For a simple solution to your picture hosting problems try Photobucket, Image Shack or Google's Picasa.

Many of our newer members have tried linking to images on their hard drives which simply doesn't work and get confused about the teccy side of "uploading images to a server" and similar jargon.

This might just be the answer to their prayers.

50 megs As the name suggests, up to 50 Mb of web hosting is free here. You may be able to upload more than just pics to this one but there is a size limit to uploaded files until you register and pay up.

For hosting of movie files try http://www.putfile.com/
You can also upload images but like the videos, you can't link directly to them.

There are others. I'll keep this list up to date as and when I can find/remember them.

Google has its own photo hosting and photo organiser/editing software for free; they've called it Picasa.

Are there any that are not too fussy about the <ahem> content of the images?

    Re: Free Image Hosting

The last "artistic" images I uploaded via Imageshack.

There was a guy on ZRXOA whose name escapes me for the minute , well known for his "artistic contributions" who used the same which is where i got the idea from.

If you read the TOU you'll find that they don't like art but if they close my account, so what, I still have Photobucket for the everyday stuff.

    but.

This is not a criticism but it's only up to a certain size and what do you do if you've used your allowance and don't want to delete anything?
Occasionaly you may want to post a larger image.

I'm doing a bit of both with my posts: some stuff will be hosted here using attachments but other stuff will be hosted on my own webspace like the Blue's Crap site.

    Re: Free Image Hosting

MyOnlineImages.com provides a file size limit of 2048k (2 meg), and images will remain on the server until 1 month, or until it has used 40 meg of bandwidth
    Sounds really pants.
