Engine locked after falling off stand.

Ok guys got a puzzler here and I?m hoping someone out there has had a similar problem and can tell me what was required to fix it.
A friend of mine started his 2006 ZRX 1200R put it on side stand went indoors to get something heard a crash outside and got there in seconds to find the bike had came off it?s stand onto it?s left side and was sure the engine had stalled immediately. Managed to get the bike up on its wheels and found minimal damage snapped clutch lever and a couple of scratches.
He said the bike was in gear (second he thinks?) and despite no clutch got it into neutral and pushed the starter to see if it would fire up. The first press had the engine turning over as normal but wouldn?t fire tried again but then found the engine seemed to have locked up as if seized. Anyone had this issue and if so what was the outcome.
Battery is good and have had the plugs out in case engine had been flooded but still won?t turn over. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How would that be? Not doubting what you say, just being nosey and not sure what you mean

When it was on its side the float valves in the carbs would not be able to seal and shut of the fuel , this could have flooded the cylinders with fuel so when it was turned over the pistons would not be able to compress the fluid thus locking the engine.

The engine will not turn even with the plugs out and there is no fuel in the oil it didn?t flood and that isn?t the reason it?s locked up.

The only way it would lock up after a fall is if there was enough of a sideways impact to push the crank to one side but that would entail a smashed pickup cover and impact to the end of the crank.

Are you trying to turn it over using the button or another way ?

It's definitely the engine that's locked?
The busted clutch lever might have also damaged the clutch lockout switch- but that would be an electric fault rather than a mechanical issue.
    Just mentioning it in case...
    Good luck to your friend.

The external damage to the engine was nil thanks to the engine bars and they were only a bit scratched.
It won?t turn on the button or turning the back wheel with a high gear selected.

I had a replacement clutch lever off my Zephyr (same part) and the starter engages but can’t turn the engine so all switches are ok. It’s definitely mechanically locked.

Have you tried "bumping" the bike with the plugs removed ?

What about dis-engaging the starter motor and see if it spins on the button , at least it rules that out as not seized.

Does it go into neutral ?
