    Re: First Bike

My first was a Honda ss50 but I put a 70cc barrel & piston on it which confused the hell out of my 2 stroke owning mates as to why I was faster than them!!passed test on a cb175 & then the rules changed to 125 so you could great 250's for about the same price as a bag of chips, nobody wanted them.So then on I had quite a few of them over the following few months but decided maybe a change on this disposable biking so got a CB900 instead. It was great for it's day but things move on from all this old shit we used to ride around on.

A word of warning on the zrx 400 as a first bike though, my other half Carol got one & it didn't suite her at all, she hated it. No power under 8k & then when you got to that it took off like a scalded cat. I thought it was great but she hated it & got an sv650 instead.

I can vouch for sv 650's , I bought a doer upper last year after riding my sons one . Great bikes and I will shortly be putting his up for sale on here.

    Re: First Bike

My other half had an SV650. Most unreliable thing we have ever owed. And that's really saying something, with our history of old vespas and lambrettas.
She now has a little CB400. Loves it.

Strange. SV650 has cult following up here. It is modifiable on the cheap with gsxr parts and quite rugged. Motor runs in adventure bikes for long time also. Kinks are well known by now. Bike is liked also by female crowd, is quite narrow due to engine configuration, easy to handle and etc.
