    First Bike

Given I am now contemplating getting my 1st proper bike. I was thinking what other Rexers had as their 1st bike. I bet there are some interesting tales to go with some of these too ?

Started with a DT125mx , Z550 , 4x Gpz900r, ZXR750, Ducati Diane carbon, but best of all the Zrx1100c4 from new. 20years of fun , the longest trip she did was 13k miles Newcastle uk to Perth Australia and the wheels didn't turn . I had a plan of collecting a whole family of Gpz but came to nowt. At one point I had the 9r , zrx and the Diavel. The cost of running the 3 was not cheap so we know which was the best ride.the Zed and back to one it was .

Agree the Z is the best, but have a soft spot for the old Ducati 900s but typical italian ladies, temperamental and need lots of attention. But beautiful styling and at the time a great ride.

    Re: First Bike

I passed my test on a CB125 but it was a hire bike, so technically my first 'proper' bike was a Suzuki GS500E that I got straight after.

Good solid air cooled commuter bike, did me well just to get some experience for a couple of years and then moved up to a ZZR600, which I absolutely loved and still miss as it was almost the perfect bike for me.

Bags of power and just kept on revving, would show up a lot of 750's at the time

Since then have had a large mixture of bikes including:
    Kwak GPZ 305
    Kwak ZX7R
Another ZZR600 - restoration that went bang
    Triumph Daytona 955i
    Triumph Tiger 800
    Suzuki SV650
    2 x Yamaha TDM 900
    Yamaha FZ1

    Currently:
Yamaha FJ1200 (1986 - resto project, still ongoing)
    Yamaha MT09 Tracer
    and of course the ZRX1100
