    Starting issue

    Hi Guys
Just wanted to check my diagnosis.
Ignition on lights showing, press start and just hear click and lights disappear.
Lights come back after a few seconds or I wriggle stuff about, but still click and nowt.
Bike runs fine with bump start and no fuses blown.
My thoughts are solenoid has gone.
    What say you?
    Cheers

Mine started to do that when we was in the isle of man a few years back. It was fun wendy push starting it fully loaded on the way back to Essex. I put a new battery on it, and it's been fine since.

Yep, as above 100% the battery.

We're getting into that time of year when the mornings are getting colder. As frosts start the bike forums fill up with these sorts of posts where the cold is exposing the batteries that are on their way out.

The main thing to check is that it's simply the battery has died from age and not due to poor charging circuit etc.

Be interested to see how you get on long term with the Motobatt - I had one on a previous bike and it didn't make a year.

Treated it no different from others I've had and the terminals leaked and the battery lost power. Went back to Yuasa which I now stick to as never had a problem.

I will keep you informed !
I am also interested as the price difference was huge.
Another upside although I cant prove it my annoying little hesitation at approx. 20000rpm has disappeared after nearly a year however this is based on a short 10 mile trip.
I have been using seafoam and had just flushed the carbs again.

Look at lithium. I converted all my bikes but Rex to lithium, but will after lead one dies. Amazing how happy do they start now.
