    Angry Knocking noise..

I've been trying to discover the source of the mysterious knocking noise..

    valves - no
    cam chain - no
    alternator - .... yes!!

Has any one had this problem and, if so, what advice can you give me!?

    Ta xx

The bolt that holds the coupling onto the alternator shaft has a habit of coming loose , remove alt and refit the offending bolt with a smidge of thread locker , job done.

mine was my front brake calipers when the bike was moving,I thought it was engine at first.

use a long screwdriver as a stethoscope it may help locate.

I did the old screwdriver trick which deduced that it was the alternator, I will have a go at the bolt.

It's a pretty easy job, made easier by the walk through guide you can find on this site.
