IMG_1598.jpgAbout a year ago I started with this.

Then it eventually looked like this:

And now after 2500miles it looks like this

What have I learned? well, in no particular order. Nissin calipers are superior to the Tokico.
That a link chain is okay actually.
    Porting and polishing is fun
You should pay more for a better project bike because you will end up paying far more in parts anyway
ZRXs are pretty easy to work on, most bits come apart and go back together without a fight.
The clocks from an S will fit an R with a bit of dremmeling, you need a water temp gauge though
That the ZRX has the world biggest underseat storage - but you all know that anyway
That a 43 tooth rear sprocket is too low (for me)

    New bits fitted include
    JE High Comp pistons
    Yoshimura cams
    Kwiks +2 advancer
Ivans Jet kit with standard air filter
    Ivans blanking plates
    Kiwiks tamer
    Yoshimura Rad cover from Webike.jp
Custom Fairing from webike.jp with 4 inch ebay headlight and LED running lights
Yoshimura / kawasaki Wheelrim stickers from wheelsticker.de
LED bulbs in the tail and instruments
Venhill brake lines and ebay resevoir
Anodised the rear caliper and fork tops with a kit from Gateros plating
Nickel plated the shiny bits on the shocks with a kit from above
Grab handles and Rad covers polished by phatdub34@sky.com - recommended on this site by someone
Frame powder coated metallic black by RPA in Bristol (excellent job) as are the wheels
Carbs cam cover and clutch cover vapour blasted by Swan Blasting

Hoping to get it dyno'd at some point, I suspect that its running a bit rich at the mo, always starts without choke.

Malfunction, all looks pretty good. I would suggest though that you look at the pictures of Italian rex that were recently posted here (link). Italian addressed your fly screen modification brilliantly....

    Sorned it.
Due to health probs I can't ride at the mo, so I need to decide whether or not to take off bits to get some cash or leave it til next year and hope things improve.
Being pissed about by ppl on here who say that they are interested in buying it doesn't help either.
But I suppose fuckwits are fuckwits.

Removed, cleaned and refitted the sump after I stupidly left some kitchen roll in the top end to block off the cam chain tunnel while doing the shims! Bike was flashing the red oil warning light intermittently after a few miles, it was obvious what I'd done as soon as I went back under the rocker cover to check and saw the remnants of a crumpled sheet by the top of the chain run!The strainer was covered with little bits of paper no wonder it wasn't achieving proper pressure...
