Tools spannerís and sockets etc.particulary old British.

I found out that my Britool spannerís Iíve had for decades are regarded very highly for the quality and Finnish.
ive always enjoyed using them they feel just right as good as snap on.
ive only ever used the combination the open ended ones I put to one side.

ďI want to add some higher sizes Iíve got up to 19mm whatís the larger sizes for a Rex I could look out forĒ?

i love some of the old tools Iíve got,I really like the army issued screwdrivers, engineers hammer and the slim all metal pliers.
the massive F type adjustable was essential when working on tracked vehicles so we would try to get hold of one if we could.
the snap on screw starter for points screws was invaluable back then, but a bit redundant nowadays.

Interstingly i always thought wrench was an American word and Spannerís UK.but looking at old Britool catalogues back in the 50/60s.

they use wrench to describe sockets and ring spannerís.
they use spanner to describe open ended spannerís,mostly that look like big engineering types you could imagine someone in a factory resetting some big machine with.

tell me what favourites you have?

Iíve had this industrial finish snap on ratchet and 8mm ED for years,I canít remember where I got it.
anyway after watching YouTube videos [obsesivley] ive dated it to 1977 I stripped it down it only had WD40 inside by the looks of it,I cleaned it up and greased it with LM grease.
you can buy repair kits but it looks fine to me.

ive been sorting my tools ready for my shed move.

what strikes me is most of my tools are 30 or more years old.the quality of the the English/British made stuff is obvious.
they are a joy to use as well,Stanley screwdrivers,Moore and Wright scribes and set squares,Britool spannerís,king dick adjustable s etc.etc.

have we lost all our industrial skills to China etc.now?
