    Purpose built wooden motorcycle shed

I am getting one built from Monday on by a mate, hes very good at this and custom bike building.

Any tips or features you think I should have?

at the moment its going to be a concrete base, damp proofed Lower, big doors so I can get in easy and a big window.

there will be a bench at the end with tool storage on the left wall.

the bike will be parked on the right, ive ordered a concreted in ground anchor.

the doors will be security locked and window laminated for security.

if you like I will document the build.

picture of my garden in the sunshine today.

It depends on your budget & if you are going to use it all year round. When I built mine the frame work was made from75x50 mm timber then before the cladding went on lined the whole lot on the outside with a waterproof membrane. Then on the inside used 50mm kingspan type insulation with all the joints taped & then boarded over this on the inside. The roof was profiled plastic covered steel supported on 150x50 joists but thicker 100mm insulation was used here with decent air gap & ventilation between it and the roof sheets to avoid condensation problems in winter.

A front wheel chock would be handy to position the bike and keep it upright instead of leaning towards you.

Yes, you can. I have two and do exactly that with them. Dead easy to park as you just ride the bike into it and get off.
I can't remember what make they are, a good search on eBay will reveal loads with a fair range of prices.

I've not used one myself, just seemed like a good idea for your situation.
Not sure I'd bolt it in, they're good for keeping the bike upright when it's out of the shed too for easier washing, running the bike whilst keeping it upright etc.

You can bolt them or the rubber stoppers/feet are quite grippy

Personally I thought it became a pain in the arse so I just keep it for the odd van transport now
