The weather was just perfect and some brilliant pot hole free roads deep in the French countryside..very impressed with the bike overal wasn't sure what to expect but very sure footed.the front braking inspires lots of confidence and the power band over 4K well that's just lots of fun..the slightly raised touring screen did its job well on the Motorway home against some pretty strong headwind...one minor niggle just needs a 6th gear..

Then its the GPZ box (that has a higher top gear iirc) for you sir and not the ZZR

That said, I know lots of us gear down as the chances of holding onto a Rex flat out for any length of time is challenging so a reduction in speed is outweighed by acceleration but Kev (aka Phoenix) geared his up and reported it cruised (oooeerrrrr matron) a lot better.

If I was doing Motorway miles everyday regarding having a six speed box then there are probably better bike options..it certainly lived up to everything I was hoping for and more on a bike of this age..

6 speed is a mod some people love, but if you rev it out in 4 you'll stop worrying about six gears. You just have to recalibrate your head.

You don't miss 6 on track ( RHM et al +1).

I was under the impression the 6-box is a bit smoother, possibly because the gears are less spaced apart. That would be the reason for me to change it I think
