Real sense of loss here. William was a gentleman off & on track. A quiet and unassuming man who attended all the Irish road race meetings no matter how small. There was a feeling the past years that his heart was not in it anymore & we all thought he might step aside. Met him at the NW200 where we stopped in traffic to let him cross to the road beside the paddock to park his cage. We parked further down past him & when he passed us on foot, he stopped for a few words & a look at our bikes - a couple of muscle bikes, ZRX1100 & GSX1400. Condolences to his family & friends & many fans. RIP William.

Another sad loss to road racing and the wider motorcycle world. I can't comprehend what the Dunlop family must be going through.

    RIP William

Very sad news. He recently had a new addition to the Dunlop family and cancelled a meeting to be at the birth.. Dreadfully sad.

I was at Mallory Park yesterday at a VMCC meeting and we all stood in a minutes silence on the start line in respect of William.

    RIP
