    Quick query on 1200S headlights

    Hi all,

Back on here again now that I own a Rex once more!

I have searched on the forum to make sure this hasn't been asked before. I have a 2001 1200S. I have just noticed that only one headlight works at a time on low beam. I assumed the low beam on one bulb had blown but when I checked the bulb it looked ok. I've checked them and both bulbs definitely work properly but only the nearside illuminates on low beam.

I know there are plenty of dual-headlight bikes where only one light illuminates on low beam and was wondering if the 1200S was like that. There's nothing in the pointless owners manual but it's the only thing I can think of. I could have sworn both illuminated on low beam but my memory ain't what it used to be...

    Thanks in advance

    Jon

If your 100% sure both bulbs are ok they should both be on, on low beam. Each headlight has a relay inside the fairing.

They should be both on. There are 2 relays that feed the lights, one for dip & one for main so if one is working then the problem isn't with the relays.

I had the same problem on my last 1200S.
I seem to remember it was a corroded female spade connector in one of the H4 bulb terminals.
