    ZX6 J2

Had been looking for a cheap, comfy sportsbike for the summer.

So this 12,500m example is nearby and on ebay. Realised I knew the geeza selling, reckon he'd take 2.3k. May go over and give it a spin.

Last year of the old shape (02), some had the first 636 motor in that chassis, this is the 600. Strong motor.

Anyone had one? The six pots and the RWUs look kind of familiar.....

Looks really tidy and a decent price.

Not a spot of oil on the rear sprocket would worry me it's had a jet wash blasting all the grease out of the rear bearings, but just my paranoid brain.

    Looks a good buy overall.

I don't like any of the 600's as you have to wring their necks to get them to go.

Looks a tidy wee bike tho Nick

I cant see the rear sprocket in that pic plus you'd have to be going some, to jet wash past the oil seal and also the bearing dust seal !

I'd say he's had the wheels repainted, as that model was notorious for the paint flacking off.

Nice condition and a good performer

some more pix on the fleabay linky in the OP. Suspect you are correct re the repainted wheels although the low miles are documented (apparently).

Talking of sprockets, a couple of more teeth on the arse one is prolly an idea, like I said its not the 636 motor.....

Next year everything changed - radials, USDs, less weight, a lot less comfortable, although I quite like the J look and they do go well. Js are around 112 crank, 172 kilos dry. No one calls em a classic, and no one would turn it into a bobber which is probably why they are so cheap....... If anyone has actually done some miles on one talk to me
