Thing is if I wanted that kind of power I'd buy a standard ZZR. Very capable track day bike too, I speak from experience witnessing one passing me (and others) a few times at Coombe. No sweat.

I like the fact that the builder has tried to keep it looking as original as possible.
No stupid mini indicators. No silly coloured anodised bits. No bolt on accessory catalogue rubbish.
I bet theres a load of extra frame bracing - looks like the main spine under the tank would've been cut to fit the throttle bodies in - hence the 2 fillets at the back of the tank. Also, no lower frame rails, as the engine is a stressed unit in this - which the frame was never made to be.
    Noce job :-)

that's exactly what I wouldn't want to hear if I was about to ride it........ plus if the engine is a stressed member you really want to know that what little frame there is, is up to the job.

The ER6 has something like 35% of the power of a ZZR motor and the lump is a stressed member but what it's attached to too looks reassuringly sturdy......

So lets just get this right....

Its now got 70+ bhp more than a REX....its quite a bit lighter (engine, wheels etc) and the frame is less than it once was ?

    Gulp!

If he goes the full monty, fits none adjustable suspenders, single disc on the front and drum on the rear and skinny cross plys he will be nearly level with how bikes handled in the 70's !

    Still looks tempting though :-)

Anyone that grew up in the 80s with hard tail frames etc knows you don’t have to worry, they very rarely break.
Anyway nothing a wee bit of brazing won’t sort
One more and you get a big kiss
