I had a Drift HD a good few years ago and worked really well until the battery finally went. I read a lot of problems with the latest Drifts so have moved over to a Sony HDR-AS50 and really like it.

I miss the remote control, but otherwise it's generally a lot better all round. Battery lasts about 4 hours on a charge (got a couple of cheap spares and can do a full days recording).

Wireless function means you can view the camera image on your phone and also download video's etc straight from the camera to phone/tablet etc.

Overall really pleased with it. Only downside is the amount of mounts are limited and pricey, but I bought a cheap converter off Amazon and then any thrid party cheapo GoPro mounts will work.

Re: Thumbs Down - Suppliers who get it wrong.

I purchased my bike from GP Motorcycles Grantham and he seems to have a steady stream of ZRX's going through the shop.

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-....Xzrx1200.TRS0

The bike hadn't been serviced (he said it had) and he proudly stated he had serviced it virtually from new, the receipts in the folder back this up, except when you looked around the bike it made you wonder what he had done.

I spoke to a local tuner who had worked with the owner (after the penny dropped regarding lack of aftersales service) and he said he wouldn't recommend the place to anyone.

First and most dangerous the brakes, he has a habit of spraying bikes with silicon, looks great but not what you want on your disc's. First time I hit the brakes, well they didn't, rang him and he just said they would improve with use???. They did improve tbh but it took a few hundred miles to clean off whatever he's got on them, the next issue was air in the system, all three brakes hadn't been bled, didn't take many seconds to sort but should have been done before leaving his workshop.

The air filter was filthy and someone had dated it, 08-09 if I remember correctly, probably replaced the original and never looked at it again.

The steering head bearings are shot, or at least never been serviced, OK so the bike has lowish mileage but they should have been looked at once they had some play in them.

All 16 valves needed re shimming, BSD Performance said every one was tight.

The flash to pass switch didn't work, I took it back with another issue and he said he'd sort it, I think it worked once or twice!

Other problem was the indicators stopped working, blown fuse he said, and he was right, he replaced the fuse but didn't do anything with the front left indicator which had caused the fuse to pop in the first place

I found a large piece of metal in the rear tyre, wasn't sure if I had picked it up but on finding 50psi in the rear I guess it was already in there and he'd pumped it up to prevent it going down.

The mechanic's a right wanker, rude as f**k and everything's to much work for him and tbh I personally couldn't work for someone who wanted me to leave bikes in an unsafe state just to maximize his profits.

If you ever want more info pop into RP Motorsport and have a chat with Roy about the place, he'd worked with him in the trade and could tell you stories that'd make your skin crawl.

Stay well away from the place.
