As for the riders - different story

I am quite surprised you haven't mentioned this lap of honour earlier Nick (its usually after just two mentions of the benefits of modifying) although are you suggesting they wouldn't be faster on a modded Rex?

Hard as it is for you to accept, modded Rex's are just nicer to ride and a little more confidence inspiring (like absolutely everything on two wheels, they don't need or have to be modified but if you do they are often nicer as a result)

Its also fun and nice to do (modifying your Rex that is)

Now that is nice wouldn't you say

As you know, mine is modded and I love the bike.

I just wouldn't want to put anyone off on the grounds that serious modding is the only way to go, because not everyone can afford to go down that road.

As to pace, you can get a pretty decent tune out of a near standard bike and I think that's worth pointing out to anyone who is considering buying one. A front end re-valve and some decent tyres can go a long way, the rear OE shocks really arent that awful. But they do need TLC. Those west london rexes look sweet, no arguments there from me. Happy New Year lads.
