Not much progress on tank project. After looking at diy videos looks like I need to move larger displaced areas first. Ordered plastic glue attachments for slide hammer...

This talented Fin gave me some ideas on the paint scheme:

He does ratted Imperial flag detail (watch video after that one also)... Now, my bike is already Red and Blue, perhaps I could add some white and go for Old Glory....

Not a chance of a Paintless dent repair on a fuel tank, the main reason being that the gauge of the metal is much thicker than it is on body panels. The second problem is access to the rear of the dent, which can only be gained through the filler hole. Glued plugs and puller won't work for the same reason, the metal is just too thick

However if you do find a way, please let us know as I've tried just about everything inc taking it to a few professionals all to no avail.

Good feedback. Will see how it actually goes with dents on this tank.

There are numerous videos showing successful repairs, so it depends.
Another thing, Modern bikes have large fuel pump opening on the bottom of the tank which helps with access.

Is there an option to use pressurised air and heat like the method used to pop dents out of expansion pipes on 2 strokes?

Or is that a recipe for disaster on a fuel tank??

Guy on ytube is fabricating compressed air attachments out of tennis balls. Interesting. For SV tank I would have to fabricate block of plate for fuel pump though
