Probably would but to be honest I think I like things 'manual' really! Most of the serious guys use air shifters so they're just flicking a button at the bar and its doing the shifts for you, suppose if every gear change is maybe 0.1 of a second it adds up.

Ive a QS on my KTM Chris and you just pin the throttle and change up the box without touching the throttle or clutch

Tis quite addictive and as manual as is

I dunno if anyone has ever fitted a shifter to the rex. The electronics bit might be challenging re rex ECU.

Could be that taller gearing is encouraging you to hang onto a cog for that bit longer, are you shifting less often vs previous? Because that would definitely help, not so sure how it works re utilising the torque. The other bit which saves time accelerating is less wind resistance.....
bung on an S fairing, helps keep the front planted and you can hide behind it as well

    Seems like you're doing good.

They connect and operate directly to the stick coils and nowt to do with the ECU per se

Such a fear of technology on here

Most rexes tq climbs steepest in the mid range, if you stay in the same gear after that point you're not going to be accelerating as fast as you would be if you were climbing the curve again (having changed up). Are you finding you are using less changes to achieve the better times with higher (taller) gearing?

My feeling with the rex 5 speed is that you'd want 4th early doors, and that's where you'd leave it.
Same number of gear changes unfortunately, though with a 41 tooth rear its pushed really pretty close to the finish line when you need to go up to 4th! Maybe with a 40 tooth you wouldn't need to go for 4th (or the ZZR ignition box as you'd have another 1k left!), its got the zzr gearbox and top-end bits in it. I seem to get the best results taking it to 11k in each gear, doing that it seems to chuck it right where the peak is in the next gear you can feel it as the front goes light and you get a little bar wobble before it settles. I think you'd do it different with standard cams and gears.

no probs with techno side of the things, do know of people who have had issues retro fitting it though a decent slipper on rex would be useful mind
