Then again....I was wondering why this fella at the bar was calling me Ted all the time, wonder if he knew I just talked kindly to his wife... She really liked this hipster thing I was pursuing, with those uncomfortably tight pants and all.
Back then it was still original.
    Sure it wasn't 2014?

    Enough BS...
Ordered a complete gearbox off a motor with mileage about 20K miles. Pretty nice service too: One can order a certain second hand part, once received you can check whether it is satisfactory (for example within wear spec's). If not it can be sent back, only cost's being P&P.
Hope it's good enough, then I'll first dismount and inspect the gear selection forks and then decide what to do... Wish me luck....

Thought about that but wasn't sure how difficult it would be to do the mod's necessary to insert it in the ZRX...
Couldn't find a good description and since it's my daily driver in rural areas there's no real need for a 6 speed.
Top speed isn't of any interest to me.
The fact that I found this one quickly and the relatively low mileage helped to decide...

    Re: Hi, fellow Europeans

In the meantime... on the other side of the world... grandma was killed by the indians...

Anywho, I decided get a whole new used engine which I came across in Germany. "Mileage" was about 50.000km instead of the almost 90k on my Rex.
First I checked the gearshift forks and gear itself. Gears were fine, forks had some wear, just getting almost 1mm thinner in some places. Other internals seemed in order at a glance.
Since I was spending money anyway I thought I might as well do it right so I changed the 50k forks for brand new ones, for future investment so to say.
Now I'm just waiting for warmer days - a blazing hot 15°C would already do for me... - to finally get this baby running smoothly again, after having swopped the blocks ofcourse... ahemm....
For that party I gladly accepted a friends offer to help.
To be continued hopefully next week, apparently summer was planned for the second week in May this year in the Nerherlands!
    Kind regards!

Not the cheapest but good parts though, at least the gearbox looks perfect!
