    120 to remove alarm?

    120 to remove alarm

does that seem about right from a qualified installer?

my bike cut out again today and I think removing the alarm will at least remove one possible cause.

this time I tried to do it logically when it stopped [it only happens at speed], everything electrical worked it would turn over etc.

but it wouldn't start until I turned it of then on again, which to me seems to indicate no ignition.

sometimes I can only start it with the clutch in as well.

would you put in another alarm or leave it without?

he doesn't charge to remove if he fits a new one they cost about 280

No need to remove the entire alarm system to eliminate it from the fault finding process .

Depending on how many isolation circuits are in the alarm then it maybe just a matter of finding out what wires feed these circuits and take them out of the wiring harness which would eliminate the alarm , or not.

It could always be connected back in if it is not at fault, at a later date.

Most decent alarms have all black wiring (with numbers) in an attempt to prevent quick bypassing of the system by a thief.

Do you have any details of the system that you have fitted ?

I've removed a data tool system 3 from my Rex.
Approx 15 unmarked black wires. Seems daunting but if you expose all the wiring your only interested in 7.
4 trigger wires for the indies can be snipped.
1 power for alarm can be snipped.
2 for the starter circuit needs to be cut and respliced.
Then a big hammer to smash it as you won't be able to stop the sounder.
