You have to be careful you do not use too powerful a master cylinder. I saw issues once with a radial master cylinder that actually started to spread the calipers under full squeeze as it was shifting so much fluid through them. They work best with the billet style, radial mount calipers that do not bolt together. They cannot spread under load then

get the right diameter MC, don't think you'll break the calipers, your wheel will lock up well before that. Well serviced 6 pots with good pads brake OK, but modern kit is just a lot better. I think an MC will make a difference indeed... that's a good price for a brembo MC if you ask me

Yep im happy (as I am with Purge's endorsement of them).

I guess the new MC may of sorted the original 6 pot calipers but am committed to fitting 4 pot now as I have them on my blade and gixxer so I know how good they are/can be.

Still just cannot get over how shite the standard brakes are (or were on mine)

The 19mm piston in the Brembo is designed for dual 4 pot calipers.
The RCS version you have has adjustable leverage from 18 to 20mm from the pivot, 20 is for a more direct feel, and18 more lazy.
On top of that, the lever is adjustable for reach.

I use 19x20 fixed Brembo on the Rex, and have done many track days of hard braking on the Nissin 4 pots.
You'll love it. One finger progressive braking up to the tyre squealing.
No fade or sponginess when hot either.

I run mine with Bendix HH pads or EBC HH, plus HEL braided lines and EBC high iron content 'race' disks.

Can anyone explain why Brembo recommend a different model of master cylinder for Brembo calipers, i.e.from memory, 18mm instead of the 20mm model.

that will be because the displacement in the calipers is smaller (smaller pistons)

Always found that a serviced set of our tokico calipers are very very strong....... Love mine with 500 mc : )

first tests of the accossato MC have been positive. I think I still have some air in the system, bit soft. But very linear power buildup

I should imagine that all the radials are much of a muchness and when I initially bled my brembo, I had to bleed it at the cylinder a couple of times between bleeding at the calipers and I was also a bit too careful when tightening the mc banjo (at the cost of all the radial mc's who wouldn't) and it needed a nip to make everything happy.

Pound for pound tho I reckon the mc has been the best money I have spent (and maybe the cost of buying/refurbing some 4 pots)
