Just been for a blast :bike: to Skegness and back and saw the tempo gauge hardly moved.

Is this normal as I can't say I have noticed before?:dunno:
If not normal what should I be checking?:hail:

Yup normal.

Only have the fan cut in a couple of times this summer.
When the temp does go up, it seems quickly.
So yours must be the same as mine.

I did a fast run up the M5 M4 etc, and it never cut in at all.

By the way, you do have an "S" model?

To test all is well, run engine in your garaage, and watch the gague. Wait for the fan to cut in and make metal note of gague position.
Dont forget to check the water level (under fuel tank ) and the expansion bottle, do not over fill.

I've got one of the oil filler cap temp gauges on my 1100 and on hot days it will get up to about 80C then the fan kicks in. It only gets up that high if I'm going through town. Normally it'll sit low - mid 70's

Just to be sure, check the coolant level in the expansion tank.
Better still, whip the tank off and check the level at the thermostat filler cap.
If you're low, the temp sensor won't be in the coolant so won't read the actual temp.
First you'll know about it is a steam cloud.

My fan's only come on a couple of times too, usually in heavy traffic after hammering it for a while, temp guage never really rises 98% of the time.
