Thinking of taking the cam cover off to refurb it, so will perhaps fit block off plates at the same time, I have seen a thread on them on here somewhere though cannot find it now.

I understand that there are at least two types, Muzzys and ????

Which is best?

Where best to get them from, Muzzys do not export IIRC?

Any on-line instructions for fitting so I can see what is involved re removing plumbing before buying?

Many thanks.

They all do the same job, just depends which ones you like the look of best and what your budget is.

Many thanks, the Muzzys look good though the Ivans come with caps to block off the vacuum stubs on carbs 1 and 4 plus a plug for the airbox hole it seems.

Will Muzzys deliver to the UK?

I think they do, but Muzzy makes it very difficult and ask for personal bank details to be emailed etc. I wouldn't.

There is a UK importer, but I don't know who it is, :pal: does though.

If you go for the Ivans ones phone them up directly. The UK importer took ages to deliver mine and when I phoned him he hadn't even ordered them. Nugget. Phoned Ivans monday, plates were in the post friday, and it worked out cheaper !
The red plug can be put in with the carbs in place but it is one awkward mother fucker. Take your time and it will go in straight.

Sg Motorsport (http://www.sgmotorsport.com/)is the UK importer for Ivans plates, When i ordered mine they came within three days, whether they would be cheaper direct from Rockland County probably depends on whether HM customs pick on your box or not.
Regarding the red plug, don't bother with it, bin it and get a blanking grommet from Halfords, the plug is toytown and I didn't want a great big red thing sticking out of my airbox anyway.

You aint never gonna see them cam covers till you take the tank off again .

Glue a 1p piece over each hole then go over with black gasket sealer when dry go over again with sealer again .

Costs less than yer postage of yer Ivans etc .

A true pikeys mod :p:

Muzzy's won't accept payment any other way than your credit card and home address details on a fax. I don't think anyone's told em about the 21st century yet.

Thinking of ordering Muzzys though have not found a UK dealer and have not got around to calling them.

Also just thinking, I guess I could remove all the pipe work, block the hole in the airbox and fit caps to the carb connections then run a piece of pipe from one block off to another. i.e. a closed loop, I guess this would work unless the reeds would tick because of pressure changes.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

yes you can do this it's much tidier and makes accessing under the tank easier. I have Ivans and they are solid and don't need any pipework at all. no noise or problems in 12 months so far.

Thanks Dave though do you mean you have done it as I suggest, i.e. connecting the two reed housings or you have Ivans block offs?

Also I guess the two carb stubs could be connected with one pipe if caps are not available?

You can link carb vacuum stubs, but best to cap them.

Just what I was thinking, great minds think alike ;-)

Might try it, the Muzzys look great though are hard to get, also with the tank on that solution would look std and just as good as Ivans.

OK, which ever way block off is acheived I assume there is no need to tinker with the fuelling, i.e. if the set up was fine before it will be afterwards?

Thanks.

Correct.
Makes no difference to performance, no need to adjust anything.

It does quiet down the crackling and popping on the overrun.

Dyno tuners prefer that the octupus is disconnected as the dyno exhaust sniffer can get incorrect readings.
