View Full Version : Buying Protocol

I am buying the 1200R from diesel, you know the one, the one with all the controversy. As diesel has already mentioned, he did not consider the bike was sold, so I told him I would definitely have it, so he sold it to me! Simple as that! I was suprised when I read the other thread this morning and saw what was unravelling before my eyes.
I feel I ought to put my side of this out into the open and would like it making perfectly clear that under no circumstances would I have bought it if I thought it had been promised to someone else! I feel sorry for Kev as he missed out on what appears to be a bargain but there seems to have been a missunderstanding and I have ended up in the middle of it!
I sent Paul (diesel) a PM which included my mobile number and asked him to ring me. He rang me, I asked him severall questions and then told him I would have the bike at the advertised price. He accepted that, so I sent him a £100deposit through my paypal account.
At the time I sent Paul the PM, I could see from the for sale thread that someone had already contacted him, but never the less I sent my PM and hoped I was not to late! After I sent the PM I went back to the for sale thread and noticed that someone else was also contacting him. It would also have been obvious to this person, as it was to me, that someone had got in first but that did not stop either of us from trying. I am sure that if this person had had the same response from Paul as I did, it would be them typing this thread and not me!
I feel that I have acted correctly and honourably throughout this deal and done no different to what anyone else in my shoes would have done!
Thank-you for taking the time to read this, all derogatory remarks that follow will be totally ignored as usual! ;)
