I know this has probably been covered before, but..
Seeing as the wheels are off the bike for new tyres to be fitted, I thought it an ideal time to replace the brake pads.
What type to you guys recomend and where from?
Cheers.

They're now on order from Busters.
Another question.....
What's the best way of cleaning the calipers without damaging the seals.
I was thinking of bunging them in a bowl of parrafin.

Phoe, on the outside I use Turtle Wax Extreme wheel cleaner, it was buy one get one free at Halfrauds .
Brake cleaner then solvol on the pistons and finally rubber grease the pistons and the seals.

.
Brake fluid or soapy water. Anything that's not petroleum based will do the job without eating the seals. Pump the pistons out and clean them with brake fluid . Might as well put a new seal kit in while you've got it apart. I might know someone who can sell you a kit cheap :eyebrow:

i cleaned my rear pads yesterday in my sunny garage [car park]
wire brush on the pins, pads and springs
brake cleaner spray and tooth brush on everything else
then soapy water applied with my garden pressure spray thingy
then rinsed with fresh water [just in case there are any harmful chemicals in the spray]
copaslip on assembly
also looked at the torque arm wasnt as rusty as i thought
but i cleaned it and sprayed with hammerite anyway
jobs a good un they must of been sticking a little as it wheels around easier now
pins were also a little tight
