Hi, New here and to the REX. I am looking at a set of Billet Mirrors for the REX but have not pulled the Plugs out of the end of the bars yet. Does anybody know How the Plugs fit into the bar?
Is there a threaded piece welded in the bar or . . . ?
My 2001 has 7/8 OD bars. Does anyone know the ID?
Thanks for the info.

Yep
The screws are loctited in, play a little heat on them and just screw them out.

they can be 'kin tight, i used an impact driver, also the original screws are a bit soft so go easy on them if you want to use them again, oh yes it's a threaded insert welded inside the end of the bar

Kawasaki assemblers appear to have used about a tube of Red Loctite on each of the bar ends :(
Heat from a soldering gun to the point you can hardly touch the bar end weights, a clean new Phillips head driver and an impact wrench help. Sometimes after heating, if you give them just a touch of additional torque (on) helps break the loctite seal before you try backing them out.

Thanks for the responses. I appreciate that. Especially the part about the weights and red locktite. I suppose we don't want those heavy things falling out at speed now do we.
Well, I think I found what I want to use; on eBay of course. They have a bar end mirror with a mount that mimics the bar enders now employed so I figure I can do a bit of back yard engineering and use the same screws I removed to mount the new ends and mirrors.
We'll see about that as soon as they arrive. After that, my next project is to either move the license plate up and trim up the rear fender to just behind the the license plate (approx. 10cm X 17cm) or buy a fender eliminator for it. I am also toying with replacing the stock turnsignals with smaller units from a gsxr.
I am considering the air box mod, and the exhaust can mod on the US ZRX site as well as removing the diamond, a fork brace and new tires. I like a clean look and I am after a bit snappier power delivery. The timing plate mod on the US site looks good and I understand the tech behind it so it makes good sense.
The more I read here, the more I want to toy with this thing. It is addictive to be sure.
