ZRX Gremlin
25th July 2005, 11:39 AM
After the near success of the meet up there on 24th July and the total failure of the one organised for the 10th  why don't we try for another one in August. Third time lucky? :dunno:

So, either tell me to shut up and pi** off or suggest a date.

:shitstick Not you :phoenix: I don't trust your weather forecasting. ;) Rain has now been moved to Monday

Possible dates for August: (Sundays)

7th Just less than a fortnight away and may be too soon for some to organise themselves or too soon after the last one. :dunno:

14th Clashes with "Run what Ya Brung" so maybe best avoid that one.

21st ?

28Th Bank Holiday weekend. Anybody who's gone to The Ponderosa on a bank holiday will understand why this is a no no.

Anybody else got any ideas as to how to narrow it down further; holidays, work commitments. etc?

7th or the 21st will do me providing my son aint got any friendly footie matches and it aint hissing it down

In the meantime let me congratulate those intrepid two wheel mariners who made it there yesterday (24th) and i make no appologies for deffing it out because of the weather (wimp i know)

Fair play to you all :hail:

Might be interested myself, now I know where it is (about an hour 30 away plus navigation errors... make that 3-4 hours then...).

Is there a plan for a ride before/afterwards? What is the usual time to meet?

Can't do it if the weather is bad as I have no waterproofs at the moment (unless the jacket I have my eye on gets released).

26th July 2005, 10:58 PM
So it's too late to say the 21st would the best bet for me then.

Whatever date you decide, I'll bring my water wings with me

ZRX Gremlin

We aim to meet there at about lunchtime ish.

Something we could do after lunch is to take a ride from there down to Barmouth or somewhere. I've done that before too.

Rain stopped play on Sunday so I didn't even suggest it.

ZRX Gremlin

Up 'till now, the 7th has been the most popular choice.

 I was just about to suggest this as a date when I checked the weather forecast thread (http://uk.weather.com/weather/local/)

:\ It's only gonna be light rain this time. Maybe I'd prefer to duck out of this one, that was only supposed to be light rain last time

So, choice 2 is the 21st.

Anybody up for that? This bl**dy rain's gotta stop sometime :dunno:

21st sounds best to me.

Gives us all a bit more time to find the waterproof oversuit ;)

trfcpaddockboy
2nd August 2005, 08:14 AM
21st is the preferred option for me as well.

Believe it or not my boots still haven't dried out properly yet from the last time.

ZRX Gremlin
2nd August 2005, 09:40 AM
Believe it or not my boots still haven't dried out properly:\ I believe you. It took my boots all week to dry out and that's because they're guaranteed waterproof.

My waterproof overtrousers aren't :( so as my leathers got soaked the water ran down inside my boots and got in that way. Now that the water is in there it has to dry out and evaporate the same way it got in. This is what took the time. My old boots which weren't waterproof would have dried out a lot quicker as the porous leather would have absorbed the moisture from the inside allowing them to dry on the oustide.

We went to go and look for it and seek out its owner later on and there it was.................gone. :dunno:
