Hi Purge, another question for you, hope ya do'nt mind?
Noticed on another thread you had removed the carb heating pipe
work n crap totally. How did you block off the pipe connections ie.
behind the carbs on that crappy manifold, and the pipe at the bottom
of the engine with a one way valve on (think that's what it is).
Cheers Steve.....

On the manifold log pipe, I just cut the rubber pipe short and stuffed an allen head bolt in it with RTV sealant, held in place with a small hose-clip.
Best done when the carbs are out as it's difficult to get to.
For the waterpump pipe stub, fitted a carb vacuum stub rubber bung over it, again held on with a small hose-clip.
The brass stubs for the heater pipes in the base of the carbs just pull out once the brackets are un-screwed. The stubs are held in by small o-rings so you have to tug quite hard.
I wouldn't recommend this mod if you use your Rex throughout the Winter, or you'll get carb icing on humid / cold days unless you use some petrol treatment.

Purge is dead right here, Steve.
If you do this and ride the bike in cold weather, or even a chilly summer's night, you WILL get carb icing, and it's a pain in the arse.
Kawasaki have been perfecting ways of icing carbs up for decades, and the ZRX is the culmination of their efforts.
Mine was tormented with carbs icing up, and that was with the heaters fitted, although they were partially blocked, and the water flow was heavily restricted.
Just letting you know.

My rex suffers from carb icing, and the heaters are still there :(
