We're heading into that 'is it still a ZRX territory' now.
"The 2nd screw down, holding the aftermarket screen to the specially made bikini fairing came off the original bike." ;)

At what point does the bike stop being a ZRX?
It's like Caesar's sword. It's all original except for some new blades and the handle was changed once :p:

We're heading into that 'is it still a ZRX territory' now.
Technically any ZRX that has been modified in any way from the OEM ZRX parts list is no longer a pure ZRX.
As far as I'm concerned, this lovely modded ZRX creation is more in the sports spirit of the Z1, Z1000, Z1R, Z1000R, Z1100R. ZRX1100 and ZRX1200R than say a touring ZRX1200S ever could be.
Just my opinion of course ;)

I like it ,but the swing arm is a bit,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr?
I think if I ever have a new chassis,I'd go for a custom made chrom moly
version of a stock frame, minus some of the un-needed crap.
Keep my jmc drag arm that way as well, and about half the weight of the
original frame.

Love that frame, looks like a Spondon, gives the bike an interesting :hmm: attitude? Does it matter whether anybody thinks its a Rex? True, a new frames a radical mod, but the bikes heart remains the same - if somewhat 'improved' to enable it to function in the way its designer intended ;) and if the Rex was perfect to all individuals as stock, nobody would want to mod theirs :)

I do like that kind of stuff though. I got into bikes when the Japanese could make engines, but couldn't make chassis', so I remember seeing Z1000 and GSX1100 engines in Harris Magnums and Spondons.

I'm looking at having an ally replica frame made by SiMoto formerly NWS, the Polygon looks good but the swingarm is fookin hideous, and it would look a lot better with sidepanels. As I remember Polygon are no longer offering frames as the guy who did them has left, I've spoken to most frame builders over the last 6 months to find someone capable of building the frame I want doing, and of all of them SiMoto seems the best option, I've seen his work and it's beautiful, the welding is sublime. there's a frame he built for a super mono, which held an XT660 motor, which I'm trying to get my hands on at the moment. The Raspo thing is not to my taste at all, whilst I can appreciate the engineering that's gone into it, I think it looks too busy, and the lines are to muddled. Just my opinion though.
