I popped over to see Michael this afternoon to ask him to help free off the rear brake banjo (OEM cheese one that wouldn't budge with socket, spanner, moley and heat).

He was fettling in his fettling shed and had moved this outside. It's apparently a Z900 with a Z1000 engine. Much butchery had been done before Tony bought it and Michael's been fettling it. Frame and box section swingarm have been stoved. Other parts have had the paint removed back to standard. He's having to fettle some replacement calipers as the ones on there had been mullahed: one bleed nipple was missing and the hole filled and the other replaced with an allen bolt... Lots of other stuff butchered to fit.

Tony's had the tank resprayed back to standard Candy Blue.

Sorry for the poor photos: they're from the 'phone.

Hi tricky did you get the banjo bolt out with Mr E help then? Was it corrosion or just overtighened originally

Yes indeed: just overtightened. It's entirely possible whoever refitted it after swapping it around when he fitted the rearsets might have over-tweaked things

Michael whacked it into the vice and got a large adjustable on it. :thumb:

I already have! I wouldn't want it get all dirty... ;)

Torqued the new ones up to 9lbs/ft, in the middle of the range suggested by BSR-Aerotek.
