View Full Version : Grafting a New Front End

14th January 2006, 12:52 AM
A few of ya have prolly seen this on the ZRXOA board. I'm sorta proud of it as I've never done anything like this to one of my bikes before. Wyn Belorusky, the famous RZV500 guy, is doin' the machine work for me. I've built hundreds of power plants and trannys for bikes over the years but this is new to me. I hope y'all enjoy.

Below pasted is what I put up on the ZRXOA board so some of the formatting may not work here. Akuna Mattada. :)

Aight,,, well here is my attmept at keepin' up with what Wyn has done to my REX. Mind you, I asked for it.

Sunday, 2 weeks ago when I dropped it off after a wet track day weekend. Never mind the colors. All that is at the powder coater dude's now. :uptosum:

So far as Wyn and I have talked, Wyn insert your smart arse comments here , we're good to go save the front fender and green rotor buttons. We're not powder coating the rotor buttons cuz of the wear the full floaters will incur. Gotta find someone to anodize them,,,, 4x4 Ken????? got recommendations? The front fender I'm biddin' on a 2000 R1 Carbon Fiber by ART on Ebay now.

I need a recommendation on on someone to do the anodizing from y'all. Just the rotor buttons is all I need done.

More updates to follow. Wyn Belorusky,,,

We ran into a lil' problemo tonight with the fairing. Exacto knives rule!

Powder coated parts are back. The lower right item is a custom ignition bracker from "Brackets Is Us". :D:

Ugly, ugly, ugly.

Now that we've dealt with the Fazer, the Rex is looking good :)

What's the front end from?

14th January 2006, 11:49 AM
It's a WP front end. Not sure what applications it's "suppose" to fit. A friend of mine had them,,, the guy in the first pic, Wyn Belorusky. He took them in on trade for some work and he never used them.

Hi goobr, keep hold off wyn looks like a very handy person to know!
Is your rex just purely for racing purposes?

Right,,, Wyn is my buddy for sure. Maybe you recognize this scoot?
It's Wyn's RZV500. :)

When I started modding the totally stock REX, it was just gonna be a few goodies here and there,,, well, you know the deal. I was drawn to the dark side and started to build a track only bike. Now, I've got so much into it and am finally building the scoot I've always wanted, it'd absolutely floor me if I wrecked it. It's still street legal now, 'cept for the shoes. To answer your question, I don't know. :dunno:

Lovely bike.

Wyn made the exhaust can bracket I'm using on my bike: lovely piece of work

Right, he does very nice work. I'm running the same exhaust can bracket as well as his rearsets. He's breakin' me though!

Very nice goobr :thumb:

Good to see a USD conversion done properly :bike:

That's one awesome custom ignition switch bracket :hail:

My version was 2 short lengths of box section ally cut by hacksaw and drilled

now if you'd only had those USDs done earlier youd have bike of the year ;)

good work mate:thumb:

I got in late Saturday night from Daytona so these pics aren't the best in the world. Gotta get some custom cut brake lines. They's a bit long. :D:

Looking very mean Goobr. Watch out for the shady character in the photo trying to steal it though.
