fork protectors

how do you get the plastic fork protectors off without damaging them???
or can you buy them from kawa?.
got an alloy fork brace from chuckc, but it wont fit with the protectors on.
dont want to cut them off if i cant get another set.

They will come off with gentle leverage using a screwdriver or similar. I got mine off without damaging them or marking them in any way.

There's a groove in the fork leg and 3 tags on the shrouds that fit into this. There is also a key to stop them rotating (lumpy bit that fits into a square recess) start levering on the opposite side of the fork leg to this. They don't seem to be quite so firmly attached on that side.
