has anyone seen the article in MCN today about the new Norton commando. To be fair it looks pretty nice, and comes with Ohlins susprnsion, brembo brakes and carbon BST wheels.
However when you look at the expected BHP of the 961 engine, they are expecting it to deliver somewhere in the region of 80 - 85 BHP.:(

now I know that if you buy one of these, you're not expecting it to keep up with the latest plastic rocket, or even one of our rexes...but seriously 16k for 85 horses....me thinks not:nope::nope:

i don`t think that this bike is about outright power i think it`s more to do with the riding experience!

This whole thread is a bit deja-vu ;) We did it some time ago.

As I said then, the Rotary is the one worth getting excited about. They're having a laugh at 16k for the twin, you can get a proper Commando for about £4.5k and they're still good fun.

Yep know what you're saying Kami but for 16k there are much better options available.

They are totally joking: get a real one.

If I had 16k to spend on something like that, I presume I'd have to move about ten other bikes and my ferrari in order to get it out - I'd never ride it!!! (and I hate ferrari's).

BTW, the ten bikes I'd have to move would include a Z1, W650, ZXR750, Green ZRX1200R, Suzy RG500, Aprilia 4 cyl thing that they have in World Superbikes, V-MAX, RC30, ZZR-1400, and my Black ZRX1200S.

Never going to happen.
