I've seen the doctor and a physio. Turns out i have sciatica. I reckon i can get on the bike now because it's eased but i might struggle to get back off!

When i was laid up with a trapped nerve in my shoulder Retro900 recommended a TENS machine from boots... it did the biz :thumb:

Chiropractor!! Honestly!!!!

When I was 18, I couldn't walk properly, and occasionally the pain was so intense that i would SCREAM, and lock up. Went to doctor, had X-ray, they said there was Nothing wrong! Yeah right! ....Saw Chiropractor (there are Good ones and not so good, by the way....)....my hips were compeletely twisted out of alignment, with one leg 1 1/2" longer than the other (which explained why I'd been losing one stirrup for years when riding! ha)...I had been trapping a ligament in my hip joint too, which caused the screaming and locking up. Chiropractor = (almost) sorted! Doctors = complete waste of f*cking time!

And....friend of mine's dad...had exruciating headaches for years, really really bad. Doctor's even opening up his skull (under anaesthetic of course! ha ha) to look into his brain! Found nothing, and treated him like he was putting it on. He eventually found an osteopath (I don't like them....) who pointed out that his neck was compressed by 2"! Bl**dy doctors hadn't even noticed that!!! TAlk about dark ages!....He used to be a jockey by the way, and the falls had totally f*cked up his neck..

So, see a CHIROPRACTOR!!!

Here endeth the lesson! Hope you feel better soon!

Wot Charlie Fox said!
I was laid up at the begining of the year, bad pain in my back. Went to Docs, he gave me painkillers. Went to see Mrs Gs chiropractor, 15 minutes later I had very little pain, and a lot more movement. Been going once a month ever since, and its money well spent.

My mate sees a chiropractor quite often, he says he comes out feeling a bit beaten up but is great for weeks after. Recons it's well worth the money and short term discomfort for the weeks of relief.

well... it' been about 10 weeks now and i'm still having problems with my lower back and right leg :( The bike has been stood for ages now as anything over 10 minutes riding it and i'm in agony.

But, Weather permitting, I am going to use the bike this weekend for the national bike show in Manchester. I'll just have to dose myself up on painkillers before i go!

find a local chiropractor .....you'll hurt while they work on you and you'll ache for a week but it's well worth it :thumb:

good luck with it Mark, I had a slipped disc a few months ago, of all things, it came from sitting in a car too long on the way back from the GP at Phillip Is. (those bloody cars are dangerous), only 2 trips to the physio but about 3 weeks of exersizes to sort it out.

I know what you mean about the withdrawls to, I sold my 636 a few weeks back but haven't had time to go shopping for the rex. soon I hope.

Cheers.
Matt

sitting in the car too long?! That's not good!

The withdrawl symptoms haven't been quite as bad as they could have been because i treated myself to a new (well, new to me) car in November. Plus the time of year and weather isn't the best for biking. I'll be glad to get back on though :)
